Annual Athletic Meet

Co-curricular activities are an essential ingredient of rigorous training at Sainik School Kunjpura. In the same line, along with host of other activities conducted throughout the academic session, Annual Athletic Meet is one of the major showcases of sporting skills held in Sant Kumar Stadium. The stadium gets its name from Col Sant Kumar - an eminent Kunjean who represented India in Moscow Olympics in 1980. The entire event is spanned over 3 days wherein the athletes compete in 3 categories viz. Holding House, Junior House and Senior Houses. The Athletic Meet is always declared open by the Chief Guest with oath-taking ceremony. The sports arena resembles any sports complex of international standard. The contingents of all the houses march in unison with their house flags demonstrating the sportsman spirit, camaraderie and feeling of belongingness. The athletic flame is kept burning throughout the Athletic Meet. Various mass displays are also held to showcase their Athletic Motor Abilities (Speed, strength, endurance, flexibility and co-ordination). All track and field events are organized wherein the athletes give their best to clinch the Athletics Trophy and the best athletes are awarded individual trophies in three categories apart from Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. The invited Chief Guest declares the Athletic Meet closed after the prize distribution ceremony and lowering of flags.
